Ashland Pilates Center (APC) was created in January of 2009 by pairing a passion for classical Pilates with a vision for an accessible, affordable and heart-centered community studio.

At APC, we focus on freedom of movement by opening joint range-of-motion, lengthening the spine and strengthening the entire body, along with the mind and spirit, from the center outward. Results most often include increased flexibility, stability, strength and stamina and decreased pain, stiffness and lethargy.

We offer a range of affordable options for practicing Pilates and are committed to the highest quality of instruction. We are continuing students as well as instructors.

We are offering a limited number of memberships at very affordable rates! These are small group classes with a maximum of 6 people per class Come 1 class per week each month for $80 OR two times each week for $120!

"Over the past year or so a physical condition developed that requires my being on Oxygen 24/7 and which limited my physical activities. After two months at twice a week doing Pilates with Rainy, I have definitely increased my strength and flexibility. I look forward to continuing to practice." -D.M.

"When I first started Pilates at Ashland Pilates Center, I had been out of shape for a while, had pains throughout my body and had little core strength. After only a few months I noticed remarkable changes in the way I moved and the tone and strength of my body. I was also delighted to discover that I had regained my balance due to the newly activate small muscles that I hadn't been using that are specifically addressed by Pilates.

I have had the pleasure of working with two of the teachers at Ashland Pilates; Rainy Wright-Legg and Kim Nielson. They each bring to their teaching a deep understanding of the workings of the human body and are quick to notice and then correct me (or someone else in the class) when an exercise is being done in a way not properly aligned. Kim makes sure to be up on all of the most current Pilates trainings and equipment and loves to come back from a Pilates conference with new techniques to share.

The studio environment is always spotless and the background music that is played is conducive to a relaxing but focused session. I have enjoyed getting to know the people in my classes and always look forward to coming to classes. I intend to keep Ashland Pilates Center in my life for years to come!" G.L.

"Ashland Pilates has been very important to my health and healing. I’ve had MS for 28 years. Kim has a distinctly therapeutic approach and is willing to create individualized programs. Kim and Rainy have worked with me, especially when I was recovering from a compression fracture, to create and execute a program that was ideal for me. Rainy’s gentle guidance and patience with my limitations, as well as creativity in adapting a program, made me feel comfortable and empowered. When I’m away from Ashland, the place I miss the most is Ashland Pilates!" -M.S.
